NANS hails Gov Sule for reinstating rusticated Nasarawa varsity students

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended the Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Audu Sule, for his intervention in ensuring the reinstatement of the rusticated students of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

The student body conveyed the commendation in a statement jointly signed by the NANS National President, Comrade Olushola Ladoja, and the NANS National Secretary General, Comrade Anzaku Shedrack Ovey, on Wednesday in Abuja.

In the statement, the NANS leadership noted that the Governor, through his wise and compassionate decision, appealed to the Vice Chancellor to reinstate the rusticated students during the recently concluded 4th Stakeholders’ Meeting of Nasarawa State University and the one-year anniversary of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman.

Part of the statement reads, “This kind gesture demonstrates Governor Sule’s commitment to the welfare and education of the youth of Nasarawa State.

“NANS believes that this decision will not only bring relief to the affected students and their families but also serve as motivation for students to focus on their academic pursuits.

“NANS applauds Governor Sule’s leadership and vision for prioritising education and youth development in Nasarawa State. We are pleased with his youth empowerment programme, and Nigerian students will continue to support his policies in all ramifications.

“We also want to let the Governor know that it is because of his positive relationship with Nigerian students that NANS chose not to take to the streets in protest after the matter was officially reported to us by the Zonal Coordinator of NANS, North Central Region.

“We trust our listening mother, the Vice Chancellor, to accept this plea.”
