The latest claim of the Oyo State chapter of the Socialist Party of Nigeria accusing Governor Seyi Makinde of non-performance and alleging that he has achieved nothing since his inauguration is not only a malicious distortion of the truth but a baseless and myopic one.
It takes people with foresight and a discerning mind to see that the governor is a technocrat who has had the blueprint of a greater Oyo State mapped out far before he became the governor.
It is equally worthy of note to say that he is ferociously laying a strong foundation for good governance through this sacred blueprint, the type that has never been seen in the state. The governor’s actions and gestures since his inauguration are testaments of the fact that he has come to serve and not to lord it over anyone.

In terms of economic growth of the state, the governor has met with numerous foreign investors for the purpose of meaningful partnership; in order to drive home his Poverty to Prosperity Initiative. In the aspect of workers’ welfare, Governor Makinde has not only fulfilled his commitment of prompt payment of salary to workers and pensioners but also improved on their welfare packages through meaningful and accessible loans.
For any individual or group to claim that governor Makinde has not achieved anything in the last three months is not only malodorous but highly uncalled for. Even though the governor is a business-minded person who is not bothered by the noise in the market, I implore people not to be clogs in the wheel of progress or tools of sponsored malevolence against the governor.
