Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru has maintained that his government is ready to surmount all the challenges facing the state.
Nwifuru stated this during the swearing-in of his Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SA) at the state executive council chambers new government house, Centenary City, Abakaliki.
He then urged the new appointees to ensure that no record of killings and other related issues is recorded in their various local governments adding that he will arrest and prosecute any SA with insecurity recorded in his area.
Nwifuru, however, charged Ebonyi people to exercise some patience with his administration promising to fix all the loopholes in no distant time.
He said, “We are aware of all the challenges and as I said in my inaugural address, we are ready to surmount all the challenges.
“I, still solicit for more patience to tackle these challenges. In no distant time, all the segments will be fixed.
“We have been confronted with lots of challenges and we are very much sure that with the kind of leaders that we have called to help us in discharging these enormous duties, within one or two weeks, all these issues in the state will be a thing of the past.
“We cannot do it alone, we are not charging them to go and confront the hoodlums. The only job you have is to give us the information. As of today, if we record any insecurity in the state, we will prosecute you.
“We want them to be more faithful. We selected them because they were the first to start this journey. So, they know what we want having been the first. All the security challenges we have, they are very much aware of it,” he said
One of the SSA, Mr. Felix Okemini In his acceptance speech on behalf of his colleagues, assured the governor that they will discharge their duties accordingly and effectively.
Recall that the 21 SSAs and SA are the first batch of Governor Nwifuru’s cabinets.
