Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets coach, Manu Garba has lamented his team’s injury problems after they fell 1-2 to Diamond Academy in a test game on Wednesday.
“We have two, three of our players who are down with injuries and the captain is only recovering from illness,” said Manu after the loss to the Diamond Academy of Umuahia.
“But otherwise, Diamond academy gave us a very good test. They are a forceful side.”
The Eaglets face a daunting task to qualify for the next round of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) when they travel to Niger for a return leg of their qualifier after they narrowly defeated the Junior Menas 1-0 in Abuja.
The reigning world champions will train in Sokoto before their departure to Niamey.
