According to the statement, Professor Gwarzo made the donation during the 33rd convocation ceremony of the university, held at its main campus in Mbale. The university also presented an award of excellence to Professor Gwarzo in recognition of his selfless service toward its development.
While presenting the award, the Council Chairman of the University, H.E. Prof. Dr. Muhammad A.S.E.A. Altabtabaei from the State of Kuwait, commended Professor Gwarzo for his contributions to the university, stating, “I was informed by the university management of your contributions. On behalf of the council, I wish to extend our appreciation to you.”
In his acceptance speech, Professor Gwarzo thanked the university for the recognition and announced the donation of $100,000 to support its continued development.
The Rector of the university in Kampala, Prof. Dr. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the donation, praying for God’s blessings on Professor Gwarzo’s wealth. He described him as a philanthropist who consistently keeps his word. “This donation is huge.
