A thunder strike has reportedly killed a young man who prepared tea, bread, and eggs on a commercial scale and one other person at Onigbegiri Junction, Eyenkorin, in the Asa local government area of Kwara state.
The Tribune reported on Saturday that the incident, which happened on Thursday evening during a heavy downpour, had caused apprehension among residents of the area.
An eyewitness, Mr Mojeed Onigbegiri, who spoke with journalists, said that the Tea teller from the northern part of the country and another male person, yet to be identified, died instantly when the thunder struck during heavy rainfall at about 6:30 p.m.
It was also gathered that the yet-to-be-identified victim was a customer who came to drink tea when the tragedy struck.
The people of the community had, however, appealed to the state government, the Nigeria Police Force, and other security agencies to evacuate the lifeless bodies of the victims.
