The holiday lesson which will hold at Urban Girls’ Secondary school, Fegge, Onitsha, the commercial city of Anambra state was flagged off in the area on Monday.
Declaring the holiday lesson open, the benefactor, Hon. Aniuno explained that the aim of the academic exercise which has lasted for three years was to keep the students busy and prevent them from engaging in antisocial behaviours.
Mr Aniuno emphasised that the participants are Junior secondary school students drawn from various schools in Onitsha South One Constituency and that the exercise is his own way of complementing the efforts of their parents in giving them the quality education so that they will be useful to the society.

On her part, the Centre Coordinator, Mr Patrick Aniuno Holiday Lesson Programme, Mrs Anthonia Okonkwo, disclosed that the Lawmaker engaged twenty qualified teachers who will teach the students Science and Arts subjects with secondary school scheme of work for one month and in the end, there will be the examination for them.
According to her, one hundred and fifty students that will excel will be offered scholarship by Mr Aniuno for one academic year, adding that the programme has helped the beneficiaries to advance in their studies in the last three years.
Expressing his gratitude to the Lawmaker, the Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Chief Nzemeka Olisa, noted that the programme would take the students off the street and inculcate reading culture in them and called on others to emulate Mr Aniuno.
One of the participants, Ms Chinaza Ewa, who appreciated the gesture, assured the lawmakers that they would make him proud.
Later, the benefactor, Mr Aniuno shared learning materials to the students.
