The Set 2005 alumni association of the Electronic and Electrical Engineering Department of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has honoured two of the best-graduating students from the department.
The alumni association has the following individuals as executive members: Mr Tosin Omorinde (Chairman), Mr Olaniyi Olayiwola (General Secretary), Mr Tosin Rabiu (Treasurer), Oluwaseun Oyeniyi (Financial Secretary), Soji Adetiran (PRO), Olusegun Adeyemo (Ibadan zonal coordinator), Victor Adeyemo (Ogbomoso coordinator), Mrs Rebecca Omowaiye (Osogbo zonal coordinator), Mr Emmanuel Aderibigbe (Lagos zonal coordinator), Mr Reuben Ayantunji (Port Harcourt zonal coordinator), and Olabisi Olajuwon (Diaspora coordinator).
The students, Olajide Fajimi and Joanna Abolade, who emerged as the best male and female graduating students, respectively, were honoured for their sterling performances during the 16th convocation ceremony of the university, which was held recently.
Presenting an award plaque and cash gift on behalf of the alumni of Class EEE 2005, the association treasurer, Dr Tosin Rabiu, noted that the students were rewarded for their academic excellence in order to encourage other students to put more effort into their academic pursuits.
Rabiu noted that your dedication, hard work, and academic excellence have not gone unnoticed. It is a remarkable accomplishment that reflects your intelligence, perseverance, and commitment to excellence. As alumni of the same institution, we are incredibly proud of your achievements and the positive impact you have made during your academic journey.
“In recognition of your outstanding performance, the Class EEE 2005 is delighted to present you with a reward of N50,000. This token of appreciation has been transferred to your bank account.
“We hope that this reward serves as both a recognition of your hard work and dedication as well as an encouragement for you to continue striving for excellence in all your endeavours. Your success is not only a reflection of your abilities but also an inspiration to others.”
The recipients of the gesture thanked the alumni association while promising that they would remain good ambassadors of the department and LAUTECH as a whole.
