Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries, a grassroots mobiliser and former commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Kwara state, Hajia Aisha Ahman-Pategi, has joined the race for Kwara North Senatorial district.
Speaking with journalists shortly after submitting her nomination form at the PDP national secretariat, Abuja, the estranged cabinet member of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who resigned her appointment following arguments over the alleged diversion of local government funds, said her mantra for the coveted Senate seat is ‘a mother’s voice’.
The former commissioner assured the people of Kwara North district of adequate representation and inclusive governance if given a chance to represent the area in the red chamber.
She described the legislative chamber as one in which laws are made for the good of the society, saying her quest for the Kwara North senatorial seat is propelled by her resolve for the remarkable difference in the region.
It would be recalled that the former commissioner had formally defected to the PDP at her Patigi electoral ward where she reportedly threw her weight behind the Kwara North agenda for the governorship seat in the state come 2023.
