The suspension of the activities of some so-called community development associations (CDAs) in Edo State will no doubt reduce the agony and anguish of prospective land owners. The proscribed CDAs had, for long, been collecting huge sums of money from landowners through their agents who are allegedly mostly thugs. Instead of using the money to improve roads, security and water supply in the communities, they only concentrate on their own pockets. This is why many new housing areas, especially in Benin City, are inaccessible, especially during the rainy season. May the Oba live long and be greater than Ewuare 1.
