The Kogi state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), said it had deployed 3000 men and officers of the command for the general elections.
The state commandant of the Corps, Ayodele Phillips, who disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Lokoja, said the command was poised to ensure a free and fair poll.
He said the men and officers deployed would work with other security agencies towards providing an enabling environment for the peaceful conduct if the election.
He charged the men and officers deployed to be professional in their conduct during and after the election.
Phillips however charged parents to warn their children from committing crimes or being used to perpetrate electoral violence stressing the resolve of security agencies to tackle any breach of public peace.
The commandant earlier inaugurated 33 new divisions of the command and three area commands towards positioning the command and move security closer to the people.
According to him, the newly created commands and Areas would complement the State government’s effort at providing adequate security for its citizens.
