The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Onuoha Bethrand, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has presented checks worth over N63 million to the next of kin of 30 police officers who died in active service.
In a statement issued on Thursday by Command Public Relations Officer SP William Ayah, the CP appreciated the IGP for his kind gesture and appealed to the families to make good use of the money to better their families while wishing them a safe journey back to their various destinations.
The beneficiaries, on the other hand, thanked the IGP and the State Police Command for their support and assured the police of judicious use of the money.
