The gunmen who abducted a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), retired General Maharazu Tsiga, have demanded a ransom of N250 million for his release.
A source close to the family, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed to DailyTrust that the kidnappers had contacted the family with their demand.
Tsiga was reportedly abducted alongside nine other residents in a coordinated attack that took place around midnight on Wednesday.
More than 100 gunmen were said to have surrounded his residence before whisking him away.
The member representing Bakori/Danja Federal Constituency in Katsina State, Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, informed journalists that the assailants forcefully entered the house by breaking doors.
He stated that General Tsiga emerged and asked the attackers what they were looking for before he was taken away.
