Kebbi First Lady, Hajia Zainab Nasare Idris, on Monday, distributed starter equipment and empowerment facilities to no fewer than 1,247 women across the state to enable them to start meaningful businesses.
Speaking at the premises of the Ministry for Women Affairs and Social Development, the commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Halima Kamba, had welcomed beneficiaries and members of the public to the graduation ceremony and skills acquisition materials to 1,247 women across the State.
She urged beneficiaries of the facilities to make good use of the equipment given to them, warning that on no account should the equipment be sold, noting that the State government would not be happy seeing or hearing that the equipment meant for their empowerment is being sold.
In Her speech, the Kebbi governor’s wife, Hajia Zainab Nasare Idris expressed that her desire and Passion was the empowerment of women and male youths to be able to stand on their own and be dependent by having something to do for a living.
She said her Foundation, ‘Nasare Foundation’ has embarked on the 1,247 people divided into three batches of which each batch was trained for three months each in tailoring, catering, Computer Operators, cosmology, shoe making amongst others.
