The Kano State Government, in coordination with security agencies, has announced movement restrictions across the state from 12:00 midnight to 6:00 PM on Saturday.
This decision affects both individuals and vehicles, applying across the 44 local government areas (LGAs) and 484 electoral wards in the state.
The State Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Baba Halilu Dantiye, urged the public to respect the movement restrictions and contribute to the integrity and safety of the electoral process.
The restrictions are in place as Kano prepares for its local government elections, a significant event determining leadership at the grassroots level.
Dantiye explained that the measure is intended to maintain security, prevent potential disruptions, and promote a conducive atmosphere for a fair and credible voting process.
However, exemptions have been granted to individuals involved in official election duties and those providing essential services.
