Alhaji Kwamanda was arraigned before the court by the Kano State Police Command.

However, Alhaji Kwamanda (the defendant) pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge leveled against him.
While responding, the defense counsel, Barr. Ibrahim Abdullahi Chedi, pleaded with the court to grant the defendant bail, assuring that he would not jump bail
Chedi further told the court that the defendant is suffering from an ailment, appealing for the court to exercise its discretion in favour of his client.
According to him, based his application on the provisions of Sections 35 (5) and 36 of the constitution, as well as the relevant provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law, ACJL 2019.
However, the prosecution counsel, Bar. Danmaidaki opposed the bail application.
