In a call for justice over the death of popular artiste MohBad, celebrities and fans of MohBad will begin a protest today at Paneke Skating Ground in Akure, Ondo State, a poster on Instagram reveals.
According to videos emerging from social media, the Lagos version of the protest will be headlined by celebrities and take place on Wednesday at Elegushi Beach, Victoria Island. Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo will be leading the Lagos leg of the protest. She has said her NGO, Pinkies Foundation, would send a letter to the state government ahead of the march on Wednesday.
She also urged Governor Sanwo-Olu to hold those responsible for Mohbad’s death accountable. “Governor Sanwo-Olu, I want you to use your good office, sir. We need you to see to it that all these investigations are carried out. We don’t want an audio investigation. Mohbad was everybody’s child. We failed him when he was alive; we do not need to fail him in death. He cried out, but a lot of us didn’t listen to him. This was why he had to pay the ultimate price. Ensure that justice is served in this case.”
Youths have also peacefully staged protests in Ogun, Lagos (Ikorodu), and Delta states demanding justice for the late artiste, Mohbad.

EDITORIAL: The NURTW shooting in Abuja
VIOLENCE and brigandage have always been the trademarks of transport unions, especially the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), across many cities and towns in Nigeria where they operate.
