To support law students during challenging economic times, Iris Attorneys LP has unveiled a virtual internship programme, set to begin in August 2024. The four-week internship is open to law students from 200 Level to 500 Level in Nigerian universities and aims to provide industry exposure and skill development in various legal practices.
Applicants are required to have the necessary equipment for virtual participation and must follow the firm on social media, sharing its posts as part of the application process. The application window opens at midnight on 18 July 2024 and closes at the end of 25 July 2024.
Highlighting the firm’s commitment to student welfare, Principal Partner, Iris Attorneys LP, Ridwan Oke said, “By making this a paid internship, we hope to give student lawyers a sense of responsibility and comfort in their roles.”
He stated that being a 21st century law firm, it was important to use technology to lessen the burden on students when there’s an option for the use of technology.
He added, “We decided to make it virtual because we understand the economic situation and challenges of the country and how challenging it’ll be for students to cover the cost of transportation with the skyrocketing cost of living in the country.“
