WITH few days to the general elections, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), has called on Nigerians for peaceful and credible conduct during the forthcoming polls.
The Deputy National Secretary of IPAC, Eunice Atuejide stated this on Monday, during the IPAC nationwide Voters education and Sensitisation workshop held in Sokoto.
Atuejide, who was represented by National Secretary of National Interest Party (NIP) Efe Onodavberoh, asked Nigerians to eschew all form of violence or intimidation, electoral corruption and anything that may compromise the 2019 general elections.
She reminded them that political ambition of any Nigerian is not worth the blood of any fellow Nigerian, or by extension, the destruction of properties, age-long inter-ethnic and inter-religious harmony among Nigerian families.
According to her: The National Chairmen of political parties hereby heartily appeal to all Nigerian voters to be peaceful, play by the rules, vote for their choice of candidates, freely and eschew all form of violence or intimidation, electoral corruption and anything that may compromise the 2019 general elections.”

Atuejide added that the workshop and roadshow held across all geopolitical zones was designed to complement INEC’s stellar efforts to conduct successful elections nationwide.
“This patriotic program will highlight IPAC’s campaign of championing the eradication of electoral violence and other vestiges of electoral malfeasance and the nefarious vote buying or selling across the country. This will be another milestone and contribution of IPAC to advancing democracy in Nigeria.
“We have invited the participation of IPAC principal Officers of the various states of the geopolitical zones for effective transmission of the political message of peaceful election by IPAC roadshow and sensitization to the grassroots. The IPAC deputy Scribe explained.
She reiterated that such sensitisations and roadshows have successfully impacted governorship elections in Anambra, Edo, Ondo, Ekiti and Osun states, hoping that the same result could be achieved in the forthcoming general elections.
In their goodwill messages, the IPAC chairmen of Kano and Katsina, Alhaji Isa Nuhu Isa and Alhaji Smai’la Amin respectively described the meeting as ‘timely’. They also commended the organiser for coming up with such sensitisation that could translate to peaceful conduct of forthcoming general elections.
Earlier, the State Secretary of IPAC in Sokoto, Alhaji Abba Sidi noted that the state chapter of IPAC is well recognised by all stakeholders in the state.
