INTELS Nigeria Limited, a prominent oil and gas logistics company based in Nigeria’s eastern port, has successfully graduated 62 beneficiaries from its Women Empowerment Project Scheme Synergy (WEPSS).
The graduation ceremony was held at the Rosa Volpi Women Development Centre in Onne Port, Rivers State, marking the 11th graduation since the program’s inception in 2013.
To support the host communities, INTELS also donated 500 garments designed by the graduates to the Tilda Goes Green Foundation in Port Harcourt.
The WEPSS initiative aims to empower 5,000 women over a 20-year period by providing training in fashion design and tailoring. With the graduation of 2,047 women to date, the program continues to make a significant impact on women’s empowerment in Nigeria.
INTELS Managing Director, Mr. Pasquale Fiore, emphasized the importance of investing in women as a catalyst for global development. He encouraged the graduates to apply their newly acquired skills in the fashion industry and to give back to society. Mr. Fiore also praised the WEPSS staff for their dedication in delivering quality training.
The Executive Director of INTELS, Amaopusenibo Mike Epelle, urged the graduates to use their training for personal and professional growth, highlighting the opportunity to showcase their creativity and inspire other women.

WEPSS Project Manager, Nancy Freeborn, praised INTELS for its ongoing support of the program, noting the transformation of lives over the past 11 years. She highlighted the success stories of past graduates, such as Esther Wehere and Dorbobari Dick, who have gone on to employ apprentices and produce garments for their businesses.
At the ceremony, the 2024 Best Graduating Trainee, Obarijima Lewa, was awarded N2 million and a starter kit that included an industrial sewing machine. Other top-performing graduates also received starter kits to help them launch their careers in fashion design.
