I still have a discharge

I have been having some discharge for some days and after being diagnosed as having a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) from a swab analysis, I was placed on treatment. However, six months after, the discharge is still on. Kindly let me know what to do about this.

There are three possible explanations for the recurrence of the discharge. Firstly, it could be that the result of the swab examination was faulty, second, that the prescribed drugs were ineffective or that you have gone back to the origin of the infection and therefore developed a re-infection. My advice therefore will be for you to go for a repeat swab test preferably in a well established laboratory after which your doctor will review the laboratory results and your medications. It is also important for you to make sure that your sexual contacts are also treated while you should practice abstinence or safe sexual practices.
