I remain a committed APC member ― Segun Abraham

The runners up in the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election in Ondo state, Chief Olusegun Abraham, at the weekend said he remained a committed member of the party in the state, just as he vowed to pursue and reclaim his mandate which had been allegedly given to the new Governor – elect in the state, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Abraham who stated this in Akure, Ondo state capital, while meeting with his supporters assured them that his mandate will be restored by the court.

Abraham who was represented by the Director General of the group, Hon Kunle Eko Davies urged his supporters not to lose hope in the struggle, urging them not to believe in the information flying around about the ongoing case at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

He explained that he never worked for the Alliance for Democracy during the last election saying his supporters worked for the success of the party during the last governorship election in the state.

He said,” We worked for APC because that is our party. We are members of the big family of APC. People knows what are fighting for. We are saying this because of the rumours making the round that we are no longer in APC and that we worked for AD during the last governorship election.

“We are not supporting AD. We are not a member of any forming Mega Party. We belong to APC. About the forthcoming inauguration, we are not yet ready for that now. We are still busy with how to retrieve our mandate. Don’t go to where they are going to beat you.

“We belong to the same party but Dr.  Abraham did not ask us to attend or not to attend the forthcoming inauguration but we are not happy because of the way they robbed us our mandate that is what we are asking for now.  We are happy because our part won that election but we believe that the person who won on behalf of the party was not the candidate of our party.

“Those that are spreading the rumors are novice in the politics. Dr.  Abraham said until the end of this matter, no member of this group that must attend any meeting with the other group apart from Abraham Support Group.

“Remember that the party before the primary set up a three man committee and the committee gave their verdict after the primary. The case would be concluded soon and we will retrieve our mandate.

He, however vowed to fight the injustice to a logical conclusion at the court of law, saying efforts by the Akeredolu’s lawyer to delay justice on the matter will soon be frustrated.
