The Pioneer Progressive Humanitarian Forum has elected Samsideen Abiodun Akerele as its new president.
Also elected are Olugbenga Fifuneyin as Secretary-General; Amos Olusola, Financial Secretary; and Barrister Abisoye Ogunsami as the Assistant General Secretary. The election took place at Ilaji Resort, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Akerele, a foremost UK-certified digital marketer, is a distinguished alumnus of the University of Sunderland in England, who holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
He was an outspoken union leader in his youthful days at Olabisi Onabanjo University (formerly Ogun State University), where he has a proven record of lobbying and making moves to benefit human growth vis-à-vis development.
He also currently holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Marketing & Analytics from the University of Sunderland, England.
In his acceptance speech, Akerele expressed gratitude to the members of the association far and wide across borders for honouring and placing their trust in him to lead the association.
He said: “I appreciate the confidence you have placed in me by electing me as your president. This is a profound privilege, and I accept this responsibility with a commitment to serve with dedication, humility, and a steadfast focus on our shared mission of promoting peace, humanity, progress, and prosperity.”
According to him, “I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our current president and the entire leadership team for their exemplary service and unwavering dedication to our cause. Their hard work and commitment have laid a strong foundation upon which we will continue to build.”
However, Akerele reiterated his commitment to collaborate with the other newly-elected executives with a clear further intention to actualise the mission and goals of the association.
He further urged all members to continue to forge ahead with the spirit of unity and compassion that defines their association.
“As we celebrate our 4th anniversary, let us recommit ourselves to the principles of charity and humanitarianism that guide our actions. May we always strive to make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve, fostering a community of support, kindness, and progress.
“Let us move forward together, hand in hand, shoulder-to-shoulder and foot-to-foot towards a brighter and more prosperous future for us and our association,” Akerele added.
