Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, on Wednesday morning, abducted an official of the Universal Education Board, Mr Femi Adesote, in Auga Akoko, in Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo state.
Adesote who reportedly drove a BMW car was travelling from Abuja to his country home in Idanre, with his father and one of his sisters when he was abducted.
According to a source, the gunmen numbering four stopped Adesote vehicle and ordered all the occupants of the vehicle to get down from the car.
The source said the gunmen picked Adesote and dragged him into the bush while his father and sister watched helplessly while the hoodlum whisked him away.
He explained that 45-year-old Adequate was travelling to idanre to drop his father who had been sick and receiving treatment while he was with him in Abuja for some three months.
He said the 45-year-old victim was taken into a forest beside the making secondary school in the community, Auga Grammar school, Auga Akoko.

He said ” the victim was coming from Abuja with his father and sister when they ran into the hoodlums. He was travelling to Idanre to drop his sick father who has been receiving treatment in Abuja.
“The kidnappers suspected to be herdsmen did not touch the vehicle or any other personal effects of the victim before taking him away, threatening to shoot his sister and father if they raise any alarm”.
He, however, said the incident was reported at the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Ikare Akoko, who mobilised to the area, combing the whole area to rescue the victim from the kidnappers and arrest the perpetrators.
He said the vehicle of the victim, a BMW with Registration Number ABJ RSH 862 DV has been removed by the security operatives to the Police headquarters in Ikare Akoko.
The Area Commander of the Ikare Akoko, Assistant Commissioner, Razak Rauf, who confirmed the development said security operatives from their division are on the trail of the kidnappers
He assured that the victim would be rescued unhurt with a promise to arrest the hoodlums in no distant period, saying “criminal element will be flushed out of the Auga forest “
