Gunmen abduct septuagenarian in Ondo

Armed men suspected to be kidnappers on Friday night, abducted a 70 -year -old woman, Mrs Fehintola Wewe, in Sabomi, Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The gunmen reportedly invaded the residence of the septuagenarian located at No 13 broad street in Sabomi, ransacked the house before leaving with the old woman.

According to a source, who explained that the gunmen arrived at the home of Mrs Wewe around 11 pm and break the door to gain access into the house.

He said “they moved around the house, ransacked the rooms and left with some valuables but dragged the old woman leg while leaving.

He disclosed that the incident was reported at to Igbekebo Divisional Police Station and said men of the police swung into action immediately.

He explained that the security operatives visited the scene of the incident while some detectives trail the hoodlums but said they had left with the woman.

He, however, said the kidnappers had not to open negotiation with the family and the whereabouts of the victim remained unknown as the time of writing this report.

Confirming the development, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr Femi Joseph, said the woman was abducted in her home on Friday.

Joseph said the command had begun an investigation into the matter and assured that the victim will be rescued unhurt.
