Niger Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has inaugurated three significant projects in the Malagi community, Gbako local government area of the State that were executed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris.
The projects include rural electrification, which connects Malagi Community to the National Grid, a Jumma’at mosque with a capacity of about 500 worshipers, and an Islamic school.
During his address to the people of Malagi, Governor Umaru Bago described these projects as unprecedented and life-changing for the community.
He commended the Minister for his efforts, highlighting that they complement the State Government’s initiatives, and encouraged other political officeholders to follow the Minister’s example.
The Governor emphasized the importance of unity among the people, stating that it is a crucial pillar for the growth and development of any society.
He also promised to construct a rice processing factory and a cattle market in Malagi, assuring the community of further dividends of democracy.
Governor Umaru Bago visited the renovated Malagi Primary School and pledged to upgrade it to a Junior Secondary School.
In his remarks, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris stated that these initiatives is aimed to improve the lives of the people and connect them to the wider world.
He urged the community to be patient with the incumbent administration at the centre adding that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is implementing policies that will benefit them.
The Minister also encouraged the youths not only in the community but elsewhere in the state and across the country to remain law-abiding, acquire skills for self-reliance, and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
He commended Governor Umaru Bago for his significant contributions to the development of the state and assured him of his ongoing support.
The Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, appreciated the Minister who doubles as ‘Kakaki Nupe Emirate Council’, for executing projects that will have a lasting impact on his people, noting that he has etched his name in the history of Malagi.
Ali Mohammed, the Director-General of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), who spoke on behalf of other agencies under the Ministry of Information, expressed pride in the Minister’s remarkable achievements.
Gbako Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Hassan Muhammad, and the District Head of Lemu, Mallam Muhammad Bello, who also serves as the Nakodin Nupe, both expressed their appreciation for the Minister’s noble initiatives and the support provided by the State Governor to grassroots communities.
Following the inauguration of the multi- million maira projects, Governor Umaru Bago, in conjunction with the the Minister, Etsu Nupe, Emir of Agaie, and other dignitaries observed their Friday Jumma’at prayers in the newly inaugurated mosque in Malagi village.
