The National Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu have condoled the Emir of Argungu, Ismaila Muhammad Mera over the death of a renowned Muslim cleric, Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu.
The chairman described the late Giro as Pius and a committed Islamic scholar who dedicated his lifetime to Islamic propagation.
A statement made available to newsmen by the chief press secretary to the governor of Sokoto State, Abubakar Bawa, said the APC National chairman described the death of late Giro Argungu as a great loss not only to Kebbi state but the entire country.
Ganduje prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the late scholar his mistakes and accept his good deeds. and reward him with Jannat ul Firdaus.
Responding, the Emir of Argungu Isma’ila Muhammed Mera thanked the APC National Chairman for the condolence visit and prayed to Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly.
Special prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
The National Chairman was accompanied on the visit by Governor Ahmed Aliyu, his Deputy, speaker Sokoto State House of assembly, Some Members of the state Executive Council, Members of National and state Assemblies among others.
