The Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, Osun State, Professor Wale Sulaiman, on Friday commended the Federal Government under President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for its significant contributions to the education sector through massive investments.
Professor Sulaiman made the remarks while donating two vehicles worth millions of naira to the university to address students’ transportation challenges within and outside the school. He assured that the Tinubu administration remains committed to further advancing the educational sector in Nigeria.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Pro-Chancellor praised the administration’s efforts in fostering critical thinking and self-reliance among students. He encouraged the university’s students to focus on their studies and adopt pragmatic approaches to become impactful contributors to society through knowledge dissemination.

Professor Sulaiman officially handed over the two Opel-brand buses to the university management in front of the school’s administrative building. The vehicles were subsequently handed over to the Students’ Union representative, Akinduro Oriola. He emphasized that the donation was aimed at improving students’ welfare, ensuring timely access to lecture halls, and creating a conducive learning environment.
“This intervention addresses a necessity,” said Professor Sulaiman. “By solving transportation challenges, students can arrive at their lecture rooms on time, settle in, and concentrate on their studies without undue stress.”
He also expressed appreciation to the university’s management for their support in establishing the institution as a premier center for learning. He commended their managerial expertise and thanked the community’s monarch for his contributions to the university’s growth.
In his remarks, the Registrar of the university, Mr. Kazeem Babamale, lauded Professor Sulaiman as a visionary leader dedicated to educational development. Describing him as a “harbinger of progress,” Babamale highlighted the Pro-Chancellor’s role in driving the university toward greater achievements.
The community’s traditional ruler, Oba Abdul Wahab Olukayode Oyedotun Bibiire, also expressed his gratitude to Professor Sulaiman and the university’s management. He prayed for their continued strength in steering the institution toward excellence. Oba Oyedotun further urged students to prioritize their academics to achieve success in life.
The Students’ Union leader, Akinduro Oriola, thanked the Pro-Chancellor for the thoughtful gesture, assuring him that the vehicles would be put to good use. He also reaffirmed the students’ commitment to learning and contributing positively to society.
