The Federal Government has announced 8 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as beneficiaries of the first phase implementation of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) Programme in Nigeria.
The Minister of Finance, Budget & National Planning, Zainab Ahmed made this known during the Special-Agro industrial processing zones programme high-level meeting held via zoom meeting on Monday.
Tribune Online gathered that twenty-four (24) states went into the bidding process preceding the announcement of the beneficiaries.
The 8 states include Ogun, FCT, Kano, Kaduna, Imo, Cross River, Oyo, and Kwara.
Governors in attendance were the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun; Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde; Imo state Governor, Hope Uzodinma Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai and the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade.
