The Medical Director of Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Kaduna, Professor Abdulkarim Yusuf Jika, is dead.

A family source revealed that the late medical doctor died on Thursday morning following a brief illness.

Born 49years ago, the deceased hailed from Katsina. He was an erudite scholar and grade 1 psychiatric consultant.

Sources said he has since been buried at Tudun Wada cemetery in Kaduna according to Islamic injunctions.

Meanwhile, the Medical Director of the National Ear Care Center (NECC), Kaduna, Dr Mustapha Abubakar Yaro, has expressed shock over the sudden demise of Professor Abdulkarim Yusuf Jika, Medical Director Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital (FNPH) Kaduna.

In a statement issued Tribune Online in Kaduna, Yaro noted that the news of the sudden death of Late Prof Jika came to him as a rude shock, saying “I am devastated by the occurrence, on behalf of the management and staff of the National Ear Care Center Kaduna, we deeply mourn our colleague.

“We extend our condolences to his immediate family, Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Federal Ministry of Health and the entire nation. We pray Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannah Firdaus.”
