The director general of John Kayode Fayemi Support Group, Mr Idowu Ayegbe, who gave the charge in Ado Ekiti, said it was proper that the party should ensure sustainable development in Ekiti central Federal Constituency 1, saying party chieftains within the APC must ensure a credible and experienced candidate to emerge as the party’s flagbearer for House of Representatives in the upcoming general elections.
Ayegbe, who spoke during one of their meetings in Ado-Ekiti, decried the attitude of some of the representatives that were elected to represent their constituencies in which they neglected their people and only took care of their pockets.
Ayegbe said the Ekiti State APC party leaders must guard against this trend by ensuring that a candidate that is close to the people and understands their needs was elected in through the primaries.
He further said that the candidate that would emerge should be one that is familiar with the workings of the legislative chamber and would be able to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

“Ekiti central needs a viable and versatile candidate that will drive the much needed and long overdue development in the area,” he stated.
According to him, the John Kayode Fayemi Support Group, after consultations, had endorsed Dr Jimlas Opeyemi L. Ogunsakin, saying he was a “perfect choice for the position.”
He said the aspirant was a learned and a meticulous young man who has learned the ropes in reaching out to people in the grassroots.
Ayegbe stated that the aspirant is a grassroots politician who was the head of the medical team of the John Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organization during the 2014 and 2018 governorship election in Ekiti state while he was able to deliver his ward for APC during the 2018 governorship election in Ekiti state.
He stated that in addition to this, Ogunsakin had worked with some house committees at the House of Representative. Hence he would know his way around without any need to be spoon-fed.
“He has enormous experience in most spheres of societal all round development which places him ahead of other contenders vying for the elective position.
“He has knowledge in policy development, institutional strengthening, health finance and governance, economic evaluation, advocacy, clinical and service integration and health care project management to mention a few.
“He also had strong implementation experience working in multi-agency environments and multicultural background both in Nigeria and the UK, United Nations Organizations and international NGOs with a record of unequalled network all over,” Ayegbe stated.
He then urged other contending aspirants to join hands together with Dr Ogunsakin and pick him as their consensus candidate so that the constituency can benefit from his wealth of experience.
