Equities trading on the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed 0.58 percent higher on Wednesday, recording an increase for the fourth trading session in a row.
The market capitalisation closed higher to reclaim N9 trillion mark after recording an improvement of N52.4 billion. It closed at N9.027 trillion.
The All-Share Index also posted an increase of 151.61 points or 0.58 percent complementing the increase of 206.67 points or 0.80 percent recorded previously and closed Wednesday at 26,116.79 basis points.
Fidson Pharmaceuticals recorded the highest gain of 10 percent to close at N1.32, Oando followed with a growth of 7.92 percent to close at N6.54 per share and UBA appreciated 6.26 percent to close at N6.28 per share.
Unilever was next with a gain of 5.31 percent to close at N33.50, while Ashaka Cement gained 4.98 percent to close at N10.96 per share.
Conversely, Unity Bank recorded the highest loss for the day, dropping by 6.90 percent to close at 54 kobo per share.
7up trailed with a loss of 5 percent to close at N90.25, while Nascon Allied Industries was down by 4.96 percent to close at N8.05 per share.
Total and Continental Reinsurance also lost 3.77 percent and 3.60 percent each, to close at N255 and N1.07per share respectively.
Zenith Bank emerged the most traded equity accounting for 41.9 million shares worth N652.2 million.
Guaranty Bank came second with a total of 37.7 million shares valued at N1.0 billion and UBA traded 34.0 million shares worth N205.2 million.
Transcorp sold 18.3 million shares amounting to N16.5 million, while FBN Holdings transacted 16.4 million shares valued at N57 million.
Investors in 3,958 deals transacted a total volume of 264.5 million shares valued at N2.9 billion compared to a total volume of 191 million shares worth N2.13 billion transacted in 3,392 deals on Tuesday.
