MUSLIMS have been implored to engage in regular physical exercise to improve their fitness and health conditions.
The coordinator of The Muslim Congress (TMC) in Oyo State, Alhaji Daud Oladosu, made the plea last Sunday during the second edition of the organisation’s “Trek for Life” held in Oyo town.
“Only healthy Muslims can perform their religious duties effectively,” Oladosu said.
According to him, the first edition of the walk for this year was held on April 7 in Ibadan to commemorate the 17th anniversary of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the 2018 World Health Day.

“The second edition coincided with the 2018 World Friendship Day. This is because as Muslims, our religion, Islam teaches friendliness and peaceful co-existence,” he said.
The trek saw the participants who comprised young boys and men march from Durbar Police Station, Oyo, through Palace Road and Akesan Market to Owode Roundabout and back to the starting point at Durbar.
The event was glamorised by acrobatic performances by trained skaters who partook in the trek.
