Senator Iyiola Omisore has facilitated the coming together of the Accord Party (AP) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, to further brighten the chances of the party for victory in the March 9 House of Assembly elections in the state.
The deal was sealed on Thursday, during a meeting Omisore had with the Accord Party chairman in Osun State, Hon Ayodele Fanibe, who was also the party’s House of Reps candidate for Ife Federal constituency in the last election.
At the meeting held in Ile-Ife. Omisore, who was the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in the last governorship election in Osun State, together with the Accord Party’s leadership, agreed to work for the success of APC at the forthcoming election and to continue to see himself as a member of the party APC.
Omisore, at the meeting described Fanibe as “an illustrious son of the soil” and a politician who must be in the camp of the progressive.
Reacting, Fanibe, who lauded the move for realignment of political forces, described it as “a very formidable rallying point which every progressive minded citizens of Ile-Ife in Osun State must partner with to move our society forward.”
It will be recalled that, Omisore and his party, SDP, had entered into a coalition agreement with APC in Osun State, after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the September 22, 2018 governorship election in the state inconclusive, a move which later coaxed home victory for the APC in rerun election.
