The Association for Good Governance in Nigeria (AGGN) has felicitated all Muslims in Nigeria and the world as they celebrate the Eid-el-Fitri.
In a goodwill message signed by Convener, Dr Abubakar Muhammad Sani, AGGN stated that, “The festival reminds us of the willingness to sacrifice alongside joyful obedience as well as deep devotion. It brings together everything that helps us collectively as a nation.
“In celebration of this wonderful event, we appeal to all citizens of Nigeria to embrace peace, unity, and good governance. Change may come through our many challenges, but with progress being built through collaboration, tolerance, and a shared desire to develop the nation, we can bring everything together to make a better future.
“We, AGGN reiterate the urgent need for all government leaders, no matter their rank, to formulate policies that guarantee equity, inclusion, economic growth, and other forms of good governance.
“Political and community leaders must bear primary responsibility for guiding the nation to its destination towards guaranteeing a future where youth, children and women feel good governance in their domains.
“We plead that citizens foster an understanding that transcends differences based on ethnicity, religion, or politics.
“As the Eid-el-Fitr season teaches, there is a need for sacrifice for something deeper, and this lesson must be turned into working together to strengthen our democracy.”
