Educational Advanced Centre, Bodija, Ibadan, one of the first private Cambridge Advanced Level education training and examination centres in Nigeria, has produced not less than 10,000 alumni, many of whom have finished their professional and university academic programmes spread across the globe.
Pastor Muyiwa Bamgbose, one of the directors and co-founder of the institution, gave the hint during the 25th anniversary and graduation ceremony organized for the May/ June 2021 set of the centre, held recently Pastor Bamgbose expressed gladness over the 25 years of existence of the centre and its growing achievements in the Nigerian education sector in spite of all challenges that confronted the institution.
According to him, EAC students have won series of international scholarship awards with many of them occupying top positions in their respective fields.
His word “It gladding my heart that one of our alumni, Dr Olusola Ayoola, a lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Ibadan, and founder, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Nigeria (RAIN) has developed Carbon Emission Tracking Drone to detect Bandits in their hiding places.
“EAC is more interested in influencing students’ thinking process. We don’t just teach students, we train them to think independently so as to evolve innovative ways of solving problems. We believe that for teaching to be effective, it has to be student-focused. Teaching must be appealing to the students.
“students with Cambridge Advanced Level certificate in Nigeria has the privilege to proceed for skill development education either in Nigeria or abroad , from 200L with a tendency to finish with first class. Most of our students usually graduated with excellent results, here or abroad. As a matter of fact, many of our students graduated from Cambridge University , Harvard and other first-class universities abroad.
EAC has produced several students in that capacity spread across the globe. Your child can make it too. We have what it takes in terms of teaching and research facilities, as well as human resources to produce self-sufficient students for university education.”
Pastor Muyiwa Bamgbose advised every parent in the country whose children are still in the secondary school to encourage them to pass through Advanced Level education as a step to tertiary institution of learning for skill development process, stressing that the development would go a long way to enhance learning in their respective educational pursuits. Past Muyiwa disclosed that ECA’s National Open University will take off very soon , subject to National University Commission(NUC)’ s final approval .
Speaking at the occasion, one of the alumni of the centre, Dr Olusola Ayoola attributed his success story to his foundation education acquired in EAC 16 years ago. He described the centre fully endowed with ultra-modern teaching aids, conducive environment and experienced human resources to ensure quality education. According to him, EAC is raising children that will touch lives.
Also speaking in the same vein, the Vice-Chancellor, Landmark University, Omuaran, Kwara State Professor Adeniyi Olayanju who chaired the occasion asserted that a child that pass through Advanced Level education training programme would find learning and skill development very interesting and will likely to finish well.
According to him, he was one the pioneer organizers of the centre 25 years ago, adding that the centre was built on a solid academic foundation and has update teaching aids of international standard to produce genius scholars for the society. ” Landmark University is proud of EAC and ever ready to partner with the centre on the skill development process.
