Speaker of Ogun House of Assembly, Suraj Adekunbi, on Sunday urged Nigerians irrespective of religious affiliation to work for the unity, peace and progress of the nation.
Adekunbi, who made the plea in Abeokuta in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Waheed Akinola, also enjoined the people, especially Christians, to use the Easter period to pray fervently for continued peace and unity in the country.
The speaker noted that the lessons of humility, perseverance, resilience, sacrifice and total victory, which played out in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, should be the watchword for all Nigerians.
