The Kwara State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has stated that it has deployed 1,050 personnel for the 2025 Easter special patrol operation.
In a statement issued in Ilorin on Friday, the sector commander, Muftau Irekeola, said the personnel deployed include 700 staff, 200 special marshals, and 150 first responders. He added that the deployment was aimed at enhancing visibility and easing movement during the Easter festive period.
The Sector Commander, FRSC RS8.1 Kwara, Corps Commander Muftau A. Irekeola, has deployed staff for maximum visibility.
The FRSC boss also stated that the special patrol operation would ensure the prompt removal of obstructions and ease of movement on all highways within Kwara State.
“This is in line with the operational guidelines of this year’s Easter special patrol, which commenced on April 16 and is to be suspended on April 23, 2025.

“The objectives of the special operations are reduction in road traffic crashes, road traffic fatalities, and road traffic injuries; prompt response to road traffic crash victims; and speedy removal of obstructions from the highways, amongst others.”
The Sector Commander also assured residents of the state that the objectives of the special operations would combine engagement of the motoring public through purposeful and impactful public education programmes, sustained effective patrol operations, as well as adequate monitoring of all routes that lead to Kwara State.
“The following traffic offences will be focused by the operatives during this festive period.
a. Exessive speeding and Dangerous Driving and Overtaking,
b. Lane indiscipline and Route violation,
c. Road Obstructions,
d. Use of Phone while Driving,
e. Overloading,
f. Seatbelt/Child restraint Use Violations,
g. Passenger’s Manifest Violation,
h. Operation of mechanical deficient and rickety vehicles,
i. Latching and Twist-Locks Violation, among others
