The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has described the demise of the wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno, as a great loss, not only to the State, but to the entire Niger Delta.
This was contained in the group’s message of condolence presented during a condolence visit to the Governor and family at his country home, Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area on Monday.
In the message read by the National Chairman of the group, Hon. Godknows Igali, the group described the late First Lady as a woman who lived well and served the people of Akwa Ibom State, Niger Delta, and Nigeria in general.

He equally conveyed a message of condolence from the National Leader of PANDEF, Chief Edwin Clark, and assured the Governor of the group’s support throughout the challenging period and beyond.
On his part, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the group and former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah, acknowledged that it was a sad experience to lose a loved one, and prayed that God will guide and protect the Governor and his family, and give them the strength to overcome the pains.
In his response, Governor Eno, appreciated the group for the visit and commended the organization for their exceptional work in the Niger Delta region.
“This visit underscores the love that this group has for all of us in the Niger Delta, and it will further strengthen us for higher service to our people knowing that, our leaders are behind us.
“We will continue, by the grace of God, as long as God gives us strength, to be good ambassadors with the position that God, through our people has given us, ” he said.
Official statement from the state Government indicates that the remains of Pastor Patience Eno will be laid to rest in Ikot Ekpene Udo, the Governor’s country home on Friday, November 29, 2024.
