Names of twenty-five nominees for appointment as Commissioners in Delta state were on Wednesday forwarded to the state house of assembly by Gov Sheriff Oborevwori.
The letter conveying the names of the nominees was read at plenary by the Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor.
The nominees include Daniel Odigie Odinigwe, Hon Joan Onyemaechi, Jerry Ehiwario, Charles Aniagwu, Dr Kingsley Ashibuogwu, Michael Ifeanyi Anoka, Hon Pat Ajudua, Darlington Ijeh, Chief Fidelis Tilije, Barr Funyei Manager, Hon Godknows Angele, Dr Joseph Onojaemo, and Emamusi Obiodeh.
Others are Perez Omoun, Orode Uduaghan, Isaac Tosan Wilkie, Agbateyimiro Isaac Weyinmi, Samuel Oligida, Prof Johnbull Tonukari, Terry Ejiro Etagherure, Mrs Rose Ezewu, Jamani Tommy Ejiro, Onoriode Agofore, Hon Reuben Izeze, Vincent Oyibode, and Sunny Ekedayen.
The Governor, who said the appointment is an exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 192, subsection 2 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as altered, said he would greatly appreciate it if early action is taken by the house to consider and confirm the nominees.
Meanwhile, the Speaker, Rt Hon Guwor, has directed the nominees to submit their curriculum vitae to reach the Clerk of the House on or before Monday, 24 July 2033, and appear for screening on Tuesday, 25 July 2023.
