THE Ohaneze Ndigbo in Delta South and Central Senatorial districts, on Thursday, re-affirmed its endorsement of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for his second term re-election bid.
The reaffirmation came during a National Press Conference which was held at Jubilee Hotel Enerhen- Effurun, in Uvwie Local Area of Delta State.
The event was well-attended by members of the Ndigbo community across the State.
The President of Ohaneze Ndigbo in Delta South and Central Senatorial districts, Chief Ezeh Nnajiofor Michael, called on all Ndigbo sons and daughters in the state to support Okowa to continue his good mandate which he is known for.
According to him, “Ohaneze are here today to tell the world that Okowa is our choice for the forthcoming governorship election, and we have thrown our support to return him to the office.”
Nnajiofor added that based on the notable achievements of Okowa in the areas of roads construction, health, education and general good governance, his government should be sustained till 2023.

He said the Igbos in Delta State have, therefore, resolved never to give in to enticements from other opposition parties.
He further stressed that Delta Central was given its two-term fair share under Chief James Ibori, and Delta South under Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, noting that equity must be upheld among the three senatorial districts.
In his response, Governor Okowa thanked Nndigbo for their massive support for his re-election bid.
He said they had shown the good spirit of oneness and patriotism during the presidential election, urging them to stand and come out en masse to vote Okowa and PDP during the March 9 governorship and House of Assembly elections.
The governor, who was represented by his Senior Special Adviser on Health Matters, and former Commissioner for Health, Chief Joseph Otumara, said politics was about giving and taking.
He opined that those who remember the government, the government will also remember and stand for them in order to promote adequate growth and development in all sectors of the State.
Dignitaries in attendance were Warri South Local Government Area chairman, Dr Michael Tidi, his Uvwie and Sapele counterparts, Hon. Ramson Onoyake and Hon Eugene Inoaghan, among others.
