Just like the change in a twinkle of an eye, deliberating what might have transpired to the sudden change, David Lyon’s mind at the moment would have travelled to a state of dilemma, looking for the right answers to his predicament.
David Lyon, an astute politician, was sacked at the Supreme Court today after his deputy, Degi-Eremieoyo, was alleged to have presented a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

However, in preparedness for his swearing-in ceremony slated for tomorrow, Lyon, dressed in a multi-colored shirt and flanked by military personnel, was pictured having his pre-swearing-in exercise on the parade ground before his election was nullified by the apex court.
The apex court, in a unanimous decision by a five-man panel of Justices led by Justice Mary Odili, held that Lyon’s running mate presented a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The apex court held that since Degi-Eremieoyo shared a joint ticket with the governor-elect, his disqualification invalidated their nomination by the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The Supreme Court ordered INEC to immediately withdraw the Certificate of Return that was issued to them and issue a fresh one to the party that secured the second-highest number of votes and got the required constitutional spread.
