A turban is a long cloth or scarf wrapped around the head and worn as a head gear. It is a form of head wear used by Arabian and Persian people but has now been adopted by all and sundry. It is a fashion accessory that comes in different forms, colours and styles to match choice outfits for formal and informal events.

They are used as customary headwears by people of various cultures and serve as religious observance. In Nigeria, Muslims favour the turban because they are used in place of hijabs, scarfs or hats while Christians wear them to church and other religious activities.
