Ahead of the governorship election in Ondo, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has said, the Governorship primary of the Action Alliance (AA) that produced Akinuli Omolere as candidate for the November 16 Ondo state governorship election is valid.
The primary was conducted on the platform of the party under the leadership of Barrister Kenneth Udeze.
But a faction of the party, led by Adekunle Rufai-Omoaje, who was sacked by the Court of Appeal is challenging the conduct of the primary under the leadership of Barrister Udeze for the election.
In its judgment in the matter, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik dismissed the suit filed by Omoaje on the ground that, Omoaje lacked the legal right to challenge the outcome of the governorship primary having admitted that he organised a parallel one on April 27 the same date as the Udeze-led leadership of the party, which the court deemed as the valid primary.
The judge therefore urged the Omoaje faction of the party to stop forum shopping for judgments and go register with another political party instead.
The court warned Omoaje to stop deceiving the public as an issue of who remains the authentic National Chairman of Action Alliance (AA) has been settled by the Appeal Court.
