The Federal Government has announced plans to commence the nationwide 2017-2018 dry season vaccination but only 12 state have fulfilled their financial obligation.
Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, revealed this when he briefed State House correspondents on the outcome of the National Economic Council (NEC) presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential villa, Abuja on Thursday.
He said NEC had been briefed by the Executive Director of National Primary Health Care Development Agency on the preparations for measles vaccination.

He said he Council was as told that the campaign will be conducted first p in the 19 Northern states including the Federal Capital Territory while the second phase of the exercise would take place in the 17 Southern states..
He added: “24 states are yet to meet their obligations for the vaccination in this campaign.
“We therefore requested council to appeal to states who are yet to meet their obligations to act urgently to enable campaign take off on schedule in all states of the federation,”
He said the council also received briefing on polio eradication.
