The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, has announced that all corps members will receive their new monthly allowance of seventy-seven thousand naira, effective March 2025.
He stated that the scheme and the Federal Government remain committed to the welfare of corps members and will continue to prioritize their well-being at all times.
Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, said in a statement that the Director General made this announcement on Thursday while addressing corps members at the Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Nafiu, who expressed gratitude to the corps members for their selfless service to the nation, urged them to remain calm, dedicated, focused, and disciplined.

He commended the founding fathers of the scheme for their visionary initiative and called on all stakeholders to continue supporting the program.
He further emphasized that the NYSC is a valuable scheme that fosters national unity by building bridges among young graduates and exposing them to the cultural values of regions beyond their places of birth.
Additionally, he assured that the management would continue to instill virtues of patriotism, discipline, self-restraint, good morals, leadership qualities, and teamwork in successive batches of corps members.
“Starting from March, you will receive seventy-seven thousand naira as your monthly allowance. NYSC maintains excellent record-keeping, and I assure you that your payments will be made. Both the nation and the scheme appreciate your service,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of her colleagues at the Garki Zone, Corps Member Zaka Deborah Alheri (FC/24A/5831) commended the Director General for his commitment to ensuring the prompt payment of their increased monthly allowance.
