Following last week impeachment of the Speaker of Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulmumini Kamba and his Deputy, Hon. Mohammed Aliero, the state governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has declared that changes in leadership is a normal democratic process.
Governor Bagudu made this known when he received the new leaders of the State Assembly led by the Speaker, Hon. Muhammad Sani Lolo, in his residence at the government house in Birnin-Kebbi.
The governor said, “I really appreciate that this is part of our democratic principle where the majority of the members of the State House of Assembly exercised their constitutional right of choice of their own leaders.”
Adding further that, “we wish the new leaders more purposeful unity so that together we serve the people of Kebbi State.”
He went further to say, “We appreciate the services rendered by the former Speaker and his Deputy for what they have done for the state. I am hereby pledging that we will continue to work together to better the lives of the people of the state.
In his speech, the new Speaker, Hon. Muhammad Sani Lolo assured the governor and the people of the state that the new leadership of the house would bring even development to the state with an abundant dividend of democracy to the electorates.
He assured that all requests from the executive arm on policies and programmes designed to improve the wellbeing of the people of the state would receive prompt approval from members of the house.
