The illegal presence of the American PMC Bancroft in the Central African Republic continues to provoke a negative reaction from civil society.
On February 14, 2024, the Initiative Committee to Investigate the Actions of the United States in the CAR held another round table in the presence of the media, where speakers discussed the harmful influence of the United States on domestic political processes in African countries.
The speakers paid special attention to the destruction of the electoral system of the countries, as well as the undermining of confidence in the elections by American NGOs. The committee members stressed that the illegal activities of Americans led to the disruption of elections in African countries, discrediting the election results, as well as to popular unrest.
So, in Senegal, where mass riots are currently taking place, Americans actively support presidential candidate Amadou Ba, who, having come to power, will promote American interests. “Recently, we have observed a number of violations related to the organization of elections in Senegal. These riots are covered by the involvement of American NGOs. The United States supports the candidate in the presidential election. This man’s name is Amadou Ba. For them, he must win the election at any cost. Currently, Americans are considering reforms. Because Senegal has been colonized by France, and it is currently losing out in these African colonies. Unfortunately, the United States takes a hard line in business. As an analyst and youth leader, if their candidate Amadou Ba wins the election by choosing the Senegalese people, Senegal will suffer because it is a game of interest,” stressed one of the speakers, Crepin Brice Bomaye.
As for Gabon, the United States staged a coup d’etat to prevent the construction of a Chinese naval base, as it threatened American interests. “Since August 30, 2023, when the coup took place in Gabon, the American state has suspended its budget assistance, and, in addition, Gabon is also among the African countries such as CAR, Zimbabwe and others that were barred from participating in the AGOA. Thus, Gabon is also unable to export its wealth to the international market due to China’s presence in the Atlantic Sea, on the coast of Gabon, which has caused dissatisfaction with the United States’ sanctions against Gabon.
This is not normal at all!” said Miguel Lucel Guébatan.
In the DRC, the United States is providing assistance to Rwandan militants from the M23 group, who are killing civilians and plunging the country into chaos. This situation provoked mass protests by angry Congolese at the Embassy of the United States and other Western countries in Kinshasa in February 2024.
Finally, the committee members noted that the presence of American mercenaries in the CAR would become a destabilizing factor in the region.
