
PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of three Directors-General/Chief Executive Officers of three Agencies under the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development.
Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Olusegun Adekunle, conveyed the appointments in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
He announced Engr. Umar Albarka Hassan as the Director-general and Chief Executive Officer of the National Steel Raw Materials Exploration Agency (NSRMEA), Kaduna.
The appointment is for the initial period of four (4) years, with effect from 12th July, 2018
Also, the National Metallurgical Development Centre, Jos has Prof. Linus Okon Asuquo as the new Director-General/ CEO for the initial period of our (4) years, with effect from 12th July, 2018.

President Buhari has also approved the appointment of Prof. Suleiman Bolaji Hassan as the Director-General/ CEO of Nigeria Institute of Mining and Geosciences, Jos.
He is to serve for an initial period of our (4) years, with effect from 12th July, 2018.
The statement indicated the President enjoined the new appointees to use their expertise and varied experiences to reposition and reinvigorate the agencies.
He charged them to discharge their duties with utmost rectitude and sensitivity to Government’s commitment to enhancing mining and steel sector as a major driver of the Administration’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan.
