A former minister of Petroleum, Prof Tam David-West, is dead.
He died at a private suite at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, around 11:00 am on Monday.
Family sources informed that the former minister had been ill for about 11 days and was hospitalised at the private suite of the hospital where he had been receiving treatment before his death.
The sources further hinted that his children are already on their way to the hospital in Ibadan.

Tribune Online recalls that David-West served as a federal minister of petroleum and energy under General Muhammadu Buhari between 1984 and 1985.
He also served as a minister of mines, power, and steel under General Ibrahim Babangida in 1986.
David-West was also a consultant virologist and senior lecturer at the University of Ibadan in 1969.
